WotC Announces Price Increase For Select Magic: The Gathering Products

WotC to increase prices on MTG products, citing increased cost of production, distribution.

Wizards of the Coast (WotC), has announced they will be increasing the prices of select Magic: The Gathering products by approximately 11% starting in September.

According to WotC, the price to produce Magic has “increased significantly”, especially the costs to “produce, manufacture, and ship Magic around the world.” In an attempt to keep the price increases “as narrow as possible”, only the prices for the following premier set, Unfinity, and Jumpstart products will be affected:

  • Draft Boosters
  • Set Boosters
  • Collector Boosters
  • Bundles
  • Jumpstart Boosters

This price increase will also affect the upcoming Dominaria United and “any backlist products starting in July.”

For Commander products, a price increase of approximately 11% will be implemented starting with Streets of New Capenna. Important to note, this increase “will not affect other product lines, like MastersModern HorizonsSecret Lair, Challenger Decks, or Universes Beyond” and WotC does not plan to make any changes to the price of Prerelease packs at this time.
