The professor from Tolarian Community College uploaded the reveal video of his new deck box “The Academic” to YouTube today.
After teasing the project last week in two separate videos, the professor dropped a video this morning that shows off an animated version of The Academic 133+ XL deck box. The box is a collaboration with Gamegenic, a studio of the Asmodee Group, a French publisher of board games, card games, and role-playing games, and will be launched via Kickstarter on March 15.
The video shows off the insides of the box for the first time and starts by unveiling that the lid completely detaches from the box and can wrap around the bottom when it is open.
Opening the box shows off three trays, two of which can be pulled out from the box, that can hold cards, dice, tokens, and more. The main deck storage area can hold a fully sleeved deck, including room for cards in hard cases.
It also appears that a separate, smaller deck box can fit in the deck storage area, still leaving room for cards in hard cases.
While there isn’t a physical version of The Academic to check out yet, more details are to come on March 15. What do you think of the deck box so far?
