Magic: The Gathering’s crossover with Japan’s biggest digital pop star, Hatsune Miku, has taken both fandoms by storm and has lead to the most recent Secret Lair drop, Hatsune Miku: Digital Sensation, to sell out blazingly fast.
Part of the Secret Lair Summer Superdrop 2024, both the foil and nonfoil versions of the Hatsune Miku: Digital Sensation drops sold out in just over two hours after going on-sale yesterday, and were followed quickly by the bundle packages which included the drop among others.
Earlier this year, Secret Lair switched from print-to-demand to a limited-run product model, making drops all the more sought after, as once they’re sold out, they’re out of print for good. Spring’s Secret Lair Superdrop marked Hatsune Miku’s Magic debut, and cards from the Hatsune Miku: Sakura Superstar drop also sold out extremely fast. In the few months since release, these cards have already begun to skyrocket in price due to their limited availability, so it’s likely we’ll see the cards from Hatsune Miku: Digital Sensation follow suit. Each Secret Lair drop also includes a surprise bonus card, many of which won’t be revealed until they are opened by the customer. These bonus cards can be exceedingly rare, with some going for astronomical rates.
At the time of publication, nearly all the other drops included in the Summer Superdrop 2024 have sold out, but those interested can visit the Secret Lair website and grab what’s left.
