Wizards of the Coast (WotC) announced a new way to win physical rewards for playing on MTG Arena.
Arena Direct is a new event, similar to the Festival in a Box events, where players get to play Sealed on MTG Arena with the top prize being mailed sealed Magic: The Gathering products. While Festival in a Box featured Chaos Sealed and awarded Mystery Booster and assorted booster packs as prizes, the upcoming Arena Direct events will use Modern Horizons 3 Sealed and award a box of Modern Horizons 3 Play Boosters for the top prize.
The first two Arena Direct events are scheduled for the weekends of June 28-30 and July 12-14. Entry fee is 5,000 gems and players can enter as many times as they want. The prize structure breaks down like this:
- 0-3 wins: No rewards
- 4 wins: 2,000 gems
- 5 wins: 5,000 gems
- 6 wins: Modern Horizons 3 Play Booster box (while supplies last, a prize of $250 will be rewarded if product runs out)
The format is Best-of-One Sealed, using six Play Boosters of Modern Horizons 3. These Arena Direct events will not replace Arena Opens, where players can win up to $2,000, but supplement them for players who wish to be able to play for physical rewards.
