MTG Duskmourn: House Of Horror Release Date And Commander Deck Titles Revealed

Release date and titles for Duskmourn: House of Horror Commander decks revealed.

With 2024 halfway complete, the release date for Magic: The Gathering’s final Standard-legal set of the year, Duskmourn: House of Horror, has finally been revealed.

Important Dates

  • Prerelease: September 20-22, 2024
  • Global release: September 27, 2024
  • Haunted Bundle: October 18, 2024

Planned for release on September 27, 2024, Duskmourn: House of Horror is a top-down horror set that pulls inspiration from popular horror and slasher films of the 1970’s and 1980’s. The plane of Duskmourn is described as one massive, decrepit manor, filled with all the usual suspects you’d expect to find in a classic haunted house. Wizards of the Coast (WotC) has been fairly quiet about the set, but they stated earlier this week that more details would be coming during a panel at MagicCon: Amsterdam this weekend.

Duskmourn Commander Decks

Also revealed alongside the important dates were the titles of the set’s four preconstructed Commander decks:

  • Miracle Worker
  • Death Toll
  • Jump Scare
  • Endless Punishment

While no cards or details of the decks have been revealed at this time, members of the MTGRumors subreddit have been piecing together theories for what each deck might do after based on their titles. Leading theories suggest that Miracle Worker is likely a deck that revolves around the miracle mechanic, first introduced in Avacyn Restored, while Death Toll might reward the player for killing creatures, both owned and unowned. Other users suggested that Jump Scare could involve the emerge mechanic from Eldritch Moon, disguise, morph, or some combination of the three. Lastly, Endless Punishment is thought to be a tax or curse-based deck that punishes opponents each turn.

Duskmourn: House of Horror will follow the normal lineup of products, with Play boosters, Collector boosters, Bundles, and four Commander decks.
