Wizards of the Coast (WotC) has announced that all past and upcoming Magic: The Gathering x Marvel set releases will be fully supported on MTG Arena starting next month.

In April of 2025, WotC revealed that certain Universes Beyond set releases wouldn’t receive complete support on Magic’s digital platforms, namely Magic: The Gathering | Marvel’s Spider-Man and other future Marvel crossovers. In an effort to avoid a total disconnect between tabletop and digital play, WotC introduced Through the Omenpaths – a bold initiative that would change the names and artwork of sets barred from Magic’s digital platforms while keeping the cards mechanically identical.

To-date, Magic: The Gathering | Marvel’s Spider-Man is the only set to receive a Through the Omenpaths re-imagining, and while it did succeed in allowing the cards to be played on MTG Arena and Magic Online, the set launched to lackluster reception, with players left confused and frustrated by the changed cards.

Thankfully now, as we approach the release of Magic: The Gathering | Marvel Super Heroes, WotC has confirmed that it, as well as all future Marvel crossover sets, will receive full support on MTG Arena. Additionally, all cards from Magic: The Gathering | Marvel’s Spider-Man will be retroactively added to MTG Arena, which includes:

  • All Magic: The Gathering | Marvel’s Spider-Man (SPM) cards
  • All of the source material cards (MAR) from Magic: The Gathering | Marvel’s Spider-Man
  • A selection of Magic: The Gathering | Marvel’s Spider-Man avatars
  • The spiderweb basic lands

For players who have Through the Omenpaths versions of cards from Magic: The Gathering | Marvel’s Spider-Man in their MTG Arena collection, they will be granted a copy of its normal version. Players will then be able to switch between the two arts at their discretion and any decks utilizing cards with the Through the Omenpaths variant will still be playable post-update, which hits the platform on June 16.

As for Magic: The Gathering | Marvel Super Heroes, WotC has confirmed that in addition to the “full-size, draftable main set…”, players will also be able to enjoy other exciting elements of the set which includes source material cards, cards from Jumpstart Boosters, the Beginner Box, and Scene Boxes, and face and feature commanders.

Also important to note, while this announcement focused solely on MTG Arena, a separate article confirmed both Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel Super Heroes would receive the same support on Magic Online.

Magic: The Gathering | Marvel Super Heroes will be available on MTG Arena beginning June 23 and on tabletop June 26.
