Nathan Goldberg won the Regional Championship at SCG CON Las Vegas with Amulet Titan on Sunday.

Goldberg helped teach Portland RC winner, Peter Husisian, how to play Amulet Titan and got to enjoy watching him take home his trophy in February. Now it was Goldberg’s turn, with Husisian watching on the rail as Goldberg assembled the final combo to close out the final RC season of 2025. The longtime Amulet Titan player now gets to add a first-place finish in a massive event to his many Magic Online Challenge Top 8s.

Goldberg claimed the No. 1 seed going into the Top 8 after having to play in Round 15 while six players drew into the elimination rounds. That Round-15 win gave him the edge in play/draw throughout the Top 8 with a record of 13-2. He was the lone Amulet player in the Top 8, which consisted of seven different archetypes.

Goldberg took down Reed Johnston on Jeskai Ascendancy in the quarterfinals before dispatching Ryan Mullens on Boros Energy in the semis. Joseph Puglisi Clark, championing the new Izzet Metalcraft deck, marched his way to the finals with wins over Joe Nguyen on Esper Blink and Andrew Sullano on Izzet Affinity.

In Game 1 of the finals, Goldberg fought through multiple Haywire Mite activations targeting his artifacts and enchantments that allowed lands to enter the battlefield untapped before assembling the Aftermath Analyst loop to create infinite mana and infinite copies of Primeval Titan. Puglisi Clark evened the score in Game 2 with a quick Cori-Steel Cutter and just enough disruption to keep Goldberg off his game plan.

In the deciding game, Puglisi Clark landed an early Blood Moon, but Goldberg used Green Sun’s Zenith multiple times to find key cards, like Six and Insidious Fungus, to battle through and unlock his mana. With Blood Moon out of the way, it didn’t take Goldberg long to demonstrate the combo and Puglisi Clark extended his hand in defeat.

On top of the Pro Tour and World Championship invites, Goldberg also walked away with $10,000, a trophy and the title of Regional Champion. Puglisi Clark will join him at the PT and Worlds while also taking home $5,000.

Amulet Titan dipped to the third-most played deck at this RC after being the most-played deck in Houston last month. Jeskai Blink and Boros Energy stole the Top 2 spots while Izzet Affinity and Izzet Prowess rounded out the Top 5. Check out the full metagame breakdown below.

Day 2 consisted of 323 players that reached 18 match points on Day 1. See how the archetypes converted below.
