The contents of the Foundations Starter Collection and the 10 Special Guests from Foundations were shown off on today’s Weekly MTG stream.
First up, check out the Special Guest cards for Foundations. These 10 cards are not being printed into Standard and are only legal in sets in which they are already legal. They all have special treatments to represent the plane they would come from. The Special Guests for Foundations include:
- Condemn
- Sphinx’s Tutelage
- Grim Tutor
- Embercleave
- Goblin Bushwhacker
- Bloom Tender
- Paradise Druid
- Akroma’s Memorial
- Temporal Manipulation
- Fiend Artisan
The stream then showed off a handful of cards (of the 387 in the product) from the Starter Collection. All of the cards in the kit, other than Sol Ring, Arcane Signet, and Command Tower will be legal in Standard. The Starter Collection does contain a large amount of cards from the main set of Foundations, but many cards will only be found in the Starter Collection. The exact list and number of cards from the main set that will be in the Starter Collection is still unknown.
The Foundations Starter Collection will come with a storage box, life counter, three Play Boosters of Foundation and have an MSRP of $59.99. The Starter Collection contents is mostly singleton, but does contain playsets (four copies) of some cards like Llanowar Elves and Burst Lightning, while some will have two copies, like the tapped gain life lands (Rugged Highlands, Tranquil Cove).
