This past weekend, a user on Twitter shared images of a series of cards, allegedly from the upcoming Magic: The Gathering set Double Masters 2022, that were said to have been opened in Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur’s Gate Collector Boosters.
Today, two additional Double Masters 2022 cards have reportedly been opened in the same packs by Reddit user TTHVOBS.
The image appears to show reprints of two of Magic’s most iconic Eldrazi — Emrakul, the Aeons Torn and Kozilek, Butcher of Truth — both featuring new artwork and frame treatments. While it is important to note that these cards are still unconfirmed, Reddit comments suggest that based on the set numbering, it’s likely that we’ll see another Eldrazi in the third slot.
While WotC has yet to comment on the potential mispackaging, it has occurred in the past with cards like Crawling Barrens from Zendikar Rising appearing in a pack of Double Masters, and later been confirmed.
If this mispackaging is legitimate, which of these reprints are you most excited for? Let us know what you think.
Double Masters 2022 is scheduled to release on July 8. View our official preview gallery.
