Legend Story Studios (LSS) has announced the next Flesh and Blood set — Bright Lights!
Bright Lights is an entirely Mechanologist-based set, designed with Draft, Sealed, and Classic Constructed in mind. The set introduces new Mechanologist heroes, equipment that start in your deck, a new way to play Flesh and Blood, and the new Expansion Slot — which replaces the token slot in some packs with new content to a range of heroes outside those featured in the product itself.
Heroes
The set has three heroes. Let’s meet two of them.
Of course, Dash makes a return as Dash I/O.
According to James White, creator of Flesh and Blood, each hero in the set has a proficiency that leans them toward one of three components within Bright Lights: Evo equipment, Items, and Boost. Notably, all heroes from the set can use all the components, so there will be synergies across all heroes in the set. Bright Lights will also introduce the crank mechanic, which makes items more playable. There will be more than 30 items in the set.
New Equipment
Teklovossen looks to be the Evos hero. Check out Evo Steel Soul Memory and Terminator Tank.
Evos are new pieces of equipment that start in your deck and allow you to modify your base equipment. Evo Steel Soul Memory shows off an Evo Base Head piece that transforms a previous base head. The preview card does have a censored line of text which will be revealed later.
Now, let’s look at some base equipment in the set.
The next four pieces are the release celebration promos for the set.
Expansion Slot
The Expansion Slot will replace the token in one in 15 booster packs. Expansion Slot cards are high rarity cards that:
- Expand the story within the world of Rathe
- Expand the tournament card pool of classes and/or talents outside the core focus of the product
- Serve as an avenue to reprint key cards, such as Fyendal’s Spring Tunic which is one of the cards possible to find in the Bright Lights Expansion Slot
Crack, Shuffle, Play
A new casual play format is coming with Bright Lights: Crack, Shuffle, Play. Open three packs of Bright Lights, remove the tokens and equipment, shuffle the packs together, choose your hero and weapon, and play. The idea is to skip deconstruction and get into the action faster than ever.
Bright Lights Limited
Bright Lights Limited has a new look as Sealed will only require four packs and decks have a maximum size of 40 cards and a 30-card minimum. Draft will remain the same, with players keeping tokens and any cards from the Expansion Slot they open before drafting from the pack.
