My Magic bio has two distinct parts: a long semi-pro career, with fifteen Pro Tours dispatched on six years, two top 16 in Pro Tours (Tokyo 1999 and Chicago 2001), four top 8 in French Nationals including a title in 2000, and nothing else. I usually had to fight in the PTQ to go to this Pro Tour, because I never reached twenty pro points.

Then there is this season: I played in premiere three tournaments (Grand Prix: London, Grand Prix: Lyon and Pro Tour: New Orleans) and finished 2nd, 1st and 3rd, which is not too bad. Consequently, my composite rating is actually over 2150, and I’m ranked 2nd in the world.

Champions Limited – Black

Yann Hamon, one of the top 20 players in the world for the 2003-2004 season, takes a break from his preparations for Pro Tour: Columbus to chime in with his opinions for what he calls “The Best Color in Champions.” Why does he feel it’s the best Limited color in CHK, and which cards does he feel stand above the rest? You’ll just have to tune in and find out.

French Food for Thought – Champions Blue in Limited

Yann continues his Limited review, this time giving his opinion on Blue, the color that is probably the toughest to figure out in the entire set. Which card does he feel is the best Blue common, and exactly how highly does he rate the best Zubera in the set? You’ll have to read the article to find out, but there might be a few surprises for you along the way.

French Food for Thought : A Kamigawa Limited Set Review (White)

Join one of the top 20 players in the world as he tackles all the tough picks you’ll be making in the new Limited format. Yann says he thinks there have been a lot of mistakes in card evaluations in set reviews thus far, but he’s here to correct those and show you the real pick orders for every common in each color.

French Food for Thought : A Standard Gauntlet with Darksteel

With Regionals on the way, it’s time for all of us — except the few happy qualified for Kobe – to focus on Standard again. This format before Darksteel was a bit boring because of the domination of Affinity and the White control decks. Now, with the introduction of Darksteel, it’s certainly a better time for innovation. I’m going to take a look at updated versions of the three tier 1 decks that you should be testing all of your latest creations against.

If you’ve ever wondered what one of the Top Ten players in the world thinks about when he dabbles with new decks in his favorite format, check inside!

Does The Clock Really Kill On Turn 3? Why, Yes It Does!

Nice to meet you; I’m Yann Hamon. I have had recent successes on the Pro Tour circuit, playing at Grand Prix: London, Grand Prix: Lyon and Pro Tour: New Orleans, finishing second, first, and third, which is not too bad. Consequently, my composite rating is actually over 2150, and I’m ranked second in the world. Also, I was the second half of the Labarre concession controversy.

I’m going to tell you this story and other interesting ones (at least I hope so) in my report. The report may also contain useful information for your Extended PTQ season – at least until Wizards finally decides to ban some cards and change the format.
