StarCityGames.com is a leader in the trading card game industry and America’s largest Magic: the Gathering retailer. Due to our continued growth, we are currently looking to hire two additional buyers and two additional event specialists.
1) BUYER
Essential Functions
- Buying and/or selling Magic the Gathering singles/collections at Premier events and in-store
- Grading cards
- Processing singles/collection purchases as they are received
- Appraising collections as they are offered to us
- Must be able to quickly, and accurately, do basic math
- Must be well organized, with attention to detail
- Must be well spoken
- Must have extensive familiarity of Magic: the Gathering

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Be articulate, communicative, and professional
- Remain organized at all times
- Independently analyze information and solve problems
- Be flexible to a changing environment, acknowledging urgency when necessary
- Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion in confidential matters
- DCI Certified Judge – Level 2+
- 2 years of experience with PTQ level events
- Assist in preparing for StarCityGames.com events

These jobs are hands-on positions that require a high level of initiative and productivity while managing numerous projects simultaneously. You must be able to collaborate with management, internal departments, and outside vendors to successfully plan and execute high-level, professional events.
Successful candidates for these positions will be knowledgeable of the gaming industry, extremely professional and dependable, possess incredible attention to detail and be able to meet strict deadlines.

A: Yes. Both positions require relocating to Roanoke, Virginia.

A: Yes. StarCityGames.com will reimburse up to $500.00 of your relocation expenses, so long as receipts are provided.
Q: What is the starting salary for each position?
A: The starting salary for either position will be based on the experience and skills you possess.
