I think this draft was relative easy for me. The pick on which I spent most
time was Shriekmaw versus Garruk. I was already Green/Red Elves, and
Garruk was on color and was going to be amazing in my deck. On the other
hand, after only 15 picks, I already had two solid fixers – Elvish Harbinger
and Vivid Crag – and I was probably going to splash Eyeblight’s Ending. I was
leaning towards picking the Shriekmaw, but in the end I went with the safe
financial value of Garruk (note that he’s also a bomb).
Feel free to post any comments or questions on the forums… I’ll answer them.
I apologize for not doing so for the past few days, but I’ve been traveling to
Worlds and GP: Stuttgart, and in the very short periods I was at home I was
busy dealing with personal issues.
I easily won both rounds by making tons of Elf tokens and then attacking
with them pumped, be it with Inner-Flame Igniter or Imperious Perfect. It’s
a different twist on a strategy I used a lot in the past – making 1/1 tokens
and then attacking and using Surge of Thougtweft – but the result is pretty much the
same, a big attack where you deal 10 or more damage, taking out some of the
opponent’s creatures and losing some tokens in the process.
