This draft was interesting because each of the Time Spiral packs seemed to be overloaded with one color, meaning whatever colors I went into Planar Chaos wouldn’t be very good for me. I stuck to Blue/White since I never saw a Red card after the Gargadon. I felt pretty lucky to get two Whitemane Lions out of Planar Chaos to go with my Mangara, but the first pick Erratic Mutation could have been a mistake because I was already planning on playing Chromatic Star to go with my Mystical Teachings, and to help with the mana costs of Mangara and Teferi. Pack 3 gave me a lot of removal, but not many creatures. I was able to play a Vedalken Aethermage for the first time, thanks to Teferi and Mangara, with an Aven Augur for good measure. Also, sorry about the missing packs, I’m not sure what happened.
Round 1 I played against a decent Blue/Green deck. In the first game he Suspended Veiling Oddity turn 2, but I had Teferi on turn 5. I got him twice by making him make bad blocks on Teferi, and once Spinning one of his blockers, and returning Teferi with Whitemane Lion the other time. Game 2 I again got ahead early, and this game he couldn’t find anything big enough to stop my Primal Plasma, while Tolarian Sentinel kept making him trade creatures with my lands. I again had Teferi, this time to stop his Infiltrator il-Kor from seeing play.
Round 2 I played against another Blue/Green deck. In the first game he had Prodigal Sorcerer to prevent me from comboing him with Tolarian Sentinel and Mangara, but the Sorcerer didn’t stop Teferi and Primal Plasma from attacking, with the Sentinel to protect them. Game 2 he got extremely flooded and it wasn’t much of a game.
I split the finals in order to go to bed.
