It took me far longer than it should have to figure out that I should have simply been in Black/Red, so my deck ended up being a slow, clunky, awkward three-color deck. Nevertheless I was able to win the draft with a great deal of help from my rares.
In the first game I fell behind a little early, but my opponent was out of gas after I used Snapback on his Battery token, and Lightning Axe on his Durkwood Baloth, while I had a Careful Consideration in reserve. In the second game he was stuck on three lands and I had Stuffy Doll, and Stormcloud Djinn.
In the second round I played against a pretty quick Green/White deck. I was able to win the first game because he gave me my 8th land with Yavimaya Dryad, which let me destroy him with Hellkite. In the second game I kept a slow draw that was dependent on having Basalt Gargoyle hold him off early, but unfortunately he had Temporal Isolation, so that plan didn’t work out. In the third game I played turn 4 Stuffy Doll, he didn’t have Isolation, and I had removal for his Thelonite Hermit which meant he had no chance.
