Things were looking great after the first couple of packs, and then in the third pack – for reasons I cannot figure out – I was completely cut off. Because of this I ended up a little short on playables and was forced to play an extra land and a couple of Cancels.
The first round was a bit of a joke. My draws were simply excellent. Both games I suspended Viscerid Deepwalker turn 1, and Errant Ephemeron turn 2, and then had removal for the few creatures he played or Cancel for his Darkness.
In the second round I again curved out, this time with Deepwalker, Thick-Skinned Goblin, Orcish Cannonade, and Flamecore Elemental. He conceded on turn 4. The second game was looking good when I had a slight board advantage, and cast Careful Consideration, but from there I drew almost exclusively lands while he had lots of action. In the third game I suspended Deepwalkers on turns 1 and 2, played creatures on turns 3 and 4, and was too far ahead for his Stuffy Doll o hold me off. I finished him by Lightning Axeing my Deepwalker in response to Tendrils of Corruption.
