I should’ve taken Firespout first. I wasn’t sure and the first person I asked said Liege so I went with it. The Firespout simply fits my playstyle better and leaves me with more options than the Liege. I did try to draft the mono Red deck for once wasting a pick on Intimidator Initiate but nothing materialized after that and I got stuck with a bunch of Green cards. If I took Firespout I would’ve taken Plumeveil second but looking back it seems the rest of pack 1 would have been pretty miserable and I wouldn’t have had a direction for pack 2.

I won the first game against a Black Red deck. My opponent made a few mistakes and neither game was particularly close or interesting.

Round 2 my opponent played Ghastlord of Fugue on turn 4 game 1 and turn 5 game 2. Perhaps I could’ve won game 1 if I didn’t attack my Liege into a double block with Glamer Spinners and Scuttlemutt. I figured his trick was Consign to Dream or Aethertow when he passed the turn with 5 Islands and a Scuttlemutt up. Game 2 I kept a hand with 3 Mountains Tattermunge Duo Burn Trail and the Liege. He played the Ghastlord again and I didn’t draw another land. Good old Magic: the Gathering.

Until tomorrow…

Rich
