After a good start this draft is going downhill. With no relevant Blue or Red card here I just pick the best card in the pack.

Neither Hellhound nor Serpent is really good in a UR control deck so I’ll just take the best card here again.
Those two Canyon Minotaurs compensate for the first picks I’ve missed.

I may have more Blue cards than Red cards but I need removal very much. Even though I like Stone Giant more than Wind Drake I would pick the Blue card as it’s easiest to cast in my Blue based deck.
Expanse would be good but I don’t think it would help as much as the excellent sideboard card Ignite Disorder.
I’ve more Blue cards than Red so double-Red guys don’t interest me that much.
Not great in my deck but great against my deck. And can I really first pick Berserkers of the Blood Ridge here?

Three possibilities here. Stalling the board while waiting for my bombs to show up (Wall of Fire) digging for them (Ponder) or dealing my opponents damage to be able to finish them off with my X spells (Servant).
Once again I’d like to avoid picking a double-Red card. I think the other two cards are about as good but I go for the 3/4 as it can also be a good blocker.
I’d have picked the Turtle if I didn’t already have two.

In the first round I’m playing agaisnt WR. He opens with a pair of Veteran Swordsmiths and then plays removal on my first two guys. When I think I’ve stabilized the board he plays Chandra and kills my last blocker and I’m now on four life.
I draw my eighth land and play Hellkite which holds the board along with the now untapped Looter. However I can’t really talk about control as any removal wins the game for him and even any guy if I don’t draw one in the next turn. He plays a guy and I find Earthquake on the next turn and clean his board. He still has three cards left in hand and life totals are now 2-13. He follows up with a creature I draw a land and he draws Pacifism.
In game two I draw over two thirds of my lands but no Looter Fireball Earthquake Jace or Hellkite to make a good use of them. As I don’t do a thing he just deals me 20 damage with Inferno Elemental.
