p1p7 I could take Fate Transfer but the Guardian is great in mono Blue and I already have Flow.

p2p1 Well the Undercurrents didn’t table like it usually does so I guess I should go back into mono White.

p2p6 I assure you this is an 8-4.

p2p9 Normally I take Wisps here but the Scarecrow helps splash Burn Trails and also possibly Banishing Knack with all of the White untappers I already have.

p3p1 Experiment time! Honestly I don’t know what else to pick either. This also allows me to splash Presence of Gond very effectively.

Round 1 I played against Ub. Game 1 I got a quick start and even Conspired Burn Trail thanks to his Painter’s Servant. My small guys also overwhelmed his Wanderbrine Rootcutters enhanced with Helm of the Ghastlord. This eventually forced him to play D and I started going off with Puresight Merrow and Resplendent Mentor. He eventually killed the Mentor but Presence of Gond showed up to find the second Burn Trail and kill him. Game 2 he played turn 3 Wasp Lancer turn 4 Helm of the Ghastlord but I totally blew him out with Unmake. From here I played Ascension on Safehold Elite when he tapped out and it went the distance.

Round 2 was pretty uninteresting against mono Black. Game 1 my opponent Soul Reaped my first guy and then got stuck on two lands and died. Game 2 we traded some guys and we both got pretty flooded. This wasn’t very good for him as I’d drawn Cenn’s Enlistment and he had no answer to it.

Round 3 was against BG. Game 1 was a total heartbreaker. I started off mulliganning to five and somehow got a playable hand. I played two Safehold Sentries and then Dragoon with Scourge of the Nobilis on it. Things were looking great until he Wickerbough Eldered my Scourge and then halted the ground with some men. I was still pinging away in the air though until he Incremental Blighted with Flourishing Defenses out and we were off to game 2. I was pretty annoyed about this one as he had to cycle Wisps on turn 2 to find a third land and how often do you get really good draws on five card hands anyway? Game 2 I got wrecked by Blowfly Infestation with multiple Devoted Druids and fatties.

Until tomorrow…

Nick
