I fell into Jund quite early as the first five picks of the drafts seemed very straightforward.
P1p7 Dragon Fodder and Druid are quite close but I like having sacrificial material in Jund and acceleration isn’t needed as much as in Naya.
P1p2 This isn’t really what I had in mind when opening a pack but taking Jund Panorama just seems so miserable.
Round 1 versus Esper
G1 Double Stinger locked my opponent in short order as it usually does.
G2 I got pretty good value out of my cards sacrificing Thrinax to Fleshbag that killed his Esper Battlemage and then sacrificing two of the tokens to make an 8/8 Mycoloth.
Round 2 versus Naya
G1 Sprouting Thrinax does what he does best and holds off my opponent’s Mosstodon quite well. Some trading of cards ensues and Necrogenesis picks up the pieces.
G2 As often happens in the Jund versus Naya matchup the board stalled. I had Jund Battlemage Court Archers and Drumhunter and was using the Battlemage to chump his Rakeclaw each turn. Incurable Ogre turned on my Drumhunter and the extra cards soon pulled me too far ahead.
Round 3 versus RG Aggro
G1 This game was a bit frustrating although not necessarily unfair. My mana had worked out fine thus far but this was the game where I had to look at the Sprouting Thrinax in hand no Swamp to be found. His two Rip-Clan Crashers gave me little time to find it which was unfortunate. I don’t think his deck could easily beat a Thrinax but I never had the chance to find out.
G2 Much like game 1 I stumbled a bit against a pretty aggressive draw.
Until tomorrow…
