Daily Digest: The Most Interesting Deck From Pro Tour Fate Reforged

If you blinked this weekend, you may have missed it! GerryT reviews the insanity brewed up by a Pro Tour Champion and comments on its viability at the $5,000 Modern Premier IQ this weekend!

While it might be a little presumptuous given that we haven’t seen every single one of the decklists, I’m going to go ahead and say this deck is the most interesting one to come out of Pro Tour Fate Reforged.

The Innovator uses a plethora of cantrips to fill his graveyard for some huge delve creatures and protects them with Stubborn Denial and discard. As far as strategies go, this one is rather unique. It might not be as powerful as casting Treasure Cruise, but it was good enough for Chapin to play it at the Pro Tour.

Tasigur, the Golden Fang and Gurmag Angler are incredibly powerful if you can cast them on the cheap, so Patrick made sure he could do just that. The deck features a whopping sixteen cards that replace themselves, including the rarely seen Mishra’s Bauble.

Path to Exile, Thoughtseize, Lingering Souls, and Liliana of the Veil may make some games feel like you’re actually playing a leaner version of Abzan Midrange, and that’s definitely not a bad thing.
