Two weeks ago at #SCGATL, Andy Ferguson demonstrated his mastery with aggressive Collected Company decks. Last weekend, he ran it back with a different shell and ended up in second place.
He cut the black for blue, which makes the deck more tempo-based. Reflector Mage is a huge pickup for any Collected Company deck, at least as long as Standard remains creature-based. Bounding Krasis is also a nightmare for opponents trying to use the combat step.
Four-Color Rally has proven that Jace, Vryn’s Prodigy is phenomenal, even in creature-heavy Collected Company decks. If Collected Company is your best card, finding it and casting it multiple times is exactly what you want to be doing. The synergy with Deathmist Raptor shouldn’t be overlooked either.
Second place definitely stings, but it’s hard to be upset with a pair of great finishes. Andy has been doing excellent work in Standard and he’s giving aggressive players plenty of cool decks to work with.
