Daily Digest: Mono-Value Control

Everyone knows that Magic players love value, but has anyone tried to get the absolute maximum amount out of Modern deck? The answer is probably no, at least until now…

Some decks are capable of winning off sheer card advantage, and this deck is certainly trying to make that happen as well. As the game goes longer, you’ll be getting more use out of your Wall of Omens, Pilgrim’s Eye, and Sun Titan that they won’t be able to keep up. Should the game go even longer still, Emeria, the Sky Ruin should lock things up.

Not dying is certainly an issue, but all the dinky 187 creatures help preserve your life total. Lone Missionary is particularly good at that, especially with help from Flickerwisp and Sun Titan. If you’re worried about Splinter Twin, you’d should be fine because you can sit on an Aether Spellbomb. Against anything else, Path to Exile, Supreme Verdict, and Mortarpod can clean up. For the rest of the truly degenerate stuff in Modern, there are some nice hate cards waiting in the sideboard.

If you enjoy value, there is no place else you should want to be.

[CEDitor’s Note: Deck was presented with fourteen cards in the sideboard.]
