Daily Digest: Large Hot Sauce

It doesn’t get more aggressive than this. GerryT and an SCG insider have the lowdown on a deck that can tear apart the #SCGPHILLY $5,000 Modern Premier IQ this weekend!

StarCityGames’ own Andrew Shrout took some time off during the holidays and decided to brew up a spicy number. It looks similar to the Nivmagus Elemental
decks from Modern, which means it can win very quickly, but this deck is a bit more resilient.

Ideally, you finish opponents off with a quick Boros Charm plus Ghor-Clan Rampager or Become Immense. If those draws don’t line up, you have a solid backup
plan that involves killing people the old fashioned way — with Wild Nacatl backed up by burn spells.

Eidolon of the Great Revel has been a fantastic addition to aggressive decks and this might be the perfect home for it. Monastery Swiftspear has proven to
be quite effective as well, and it gets even better when you’re using zero mana spells like Gut Shot and Mutagenic Growth.

Another thing I really like about this deck is the use of Chained to the Rocks in the sideboard instead of something like Path to Exile. Path, while
excellent, can often get your opponent closer to stabilizing thanks to the extra mana it gives, but Chained to the Rocks will remove a Tarmogoyf with
basically no questions asked.
