Daily Digest: Heroes Of The Boros Legion

Tom Ross brought us most of the Heroic way, but maybe it’s time to branch off a bit for #SCGATL. GerryT has located a great new option if you’re in the mood to be a different kind of hero!

Perhaps we’ve been doing it wrong this whole time.

Tom Ross has spearheaded a revival of W/U Heroic in Standard, but maybe the blue cards are wrong. Ordeal of Thassa allows the deck to have a great draw
engine, but is that better than just killing your opponent?

Monastery Swiftspear and Seeker of the Way are heroic-friendly, which allow you to have several threats in play at the same time, unlike W/U Heroic which
just aims to build a single big creature and protect it.

Akroan Crusader gives you a way to go wide, which makes Crackling Doom look rather silly against you. In combination with Phalanx Leader, things can get
out of control quickly. One thing I especially like about W/R Heroic is that it has access to another cheap cantrip heroic enabler in Dragon Mantle, which
gives you more gas.

Despite not having Battlefield Forge or Mana Confluence, this deck put up a money finish in a Daily Event. It could likely be improved, even aside from the
manabase. For example, Arc Lightning seems pretty sweet with (non-Akroan Crusader) heroic creatures, and that’s definitely a card I’d like to try.
