Daily Digest: A New Flavor Of Dragons

It seems like you can’t go wrong in Standard as long as you’re flying and firebreathing! #SCGPROV is on the way, and GerryT is ready to show you the latest Dragon deck in Standard!

there yet. This deck takes a more controlling stance with the Thunderbreak Regent / Stormbreath Dragon shell, featuring Draconic Roar and Silumgar’s Scorn alongside Foul-Tongue Invocation in the sideboard. If you want to get rewarded for playing Dragons, this is certainly the deck to play.

Stubborn Denial is an honorary Dragon card, as most of the Dragons enable ferocious as well. Crux of Fate clearly works well with Dragons, too. Dig Through Time and Anticipate make sure you always have a steady stream of Dragons to pressure your opponent.

Overall, this seems pretty well-rounded. You lose Dragonlord Ojutai by playing red instead of white, but the red cards certainly help make up for that. Anger of the Gods and Roast are particularly nice ones. This feels like an Esper shell that’s a bit more aggressive, so if that’s something you’re looking for, you should definitely try this out.
