With the StarCityGames Players’ Championship in the books, it’s clear that Sultai is here to stay. While it won the World Championships in the hands of
Shahar Shenhar, the still deck didn’t perform very well in that tournament. However, in the #SCGPC, three of Top 4 players were all playing Sultai.
Brad Nelson took down Reid Duke’s and Gerard Fabiano’s Eidolon of Blossoms-based Sultai deck with a more traditional version featuring Sidisi, Brood
Tyrant. Brad was ready for the mirror match and I’d expect his list to be the Standard going forward. You can’t forget about Reid and Gerard though, as
clearly their deck has some chops as well.
One thing all three decks had in common was maindeck Pharika, God of Affliction, showing off that it’s likely the best card to have access to in the mirror
match.
