We’ve been seeing Tasigur, the Golden Fang show up in a lot of spots, most notably in Abzan and Splinter Twin variants. Delver variants are starting to
incorporate the card, but what about in a control deck?
Alice_ finished 3-1 in a Magic Online Daily Event with a Tasigur that is more on the controlling side, although it features numerous tempo elements as
well. Vendilion Clique, Venser, Shaper Savant, and Sword of Feast and Famine are some of the cards that can help you turn the corner, going from very
behind to very ahead. There’s also Cavern of Souls, great for the various wizards in the deck, but also useful for making sure Tasigur doesn’t get
Remanded.
Other than that, the deck is packed with the various blue and black spells you would expect. It can be a little difficult to get a U/B deck to beat things
like Affinity, but Alice_ is giving it a shot with Hurkyl’s Recall, Damnation, and various -1/-1 effects. Sudden Death is great against Infect, and it’s a
card we haven’t seen very often.
Overall, I think this deck looks really sweet.
