I bet you thought you’d have to wait a month until Battle for Zendikar, but it’s already here! This marks the second 4-0 finish in a Modern Daily Event in the last couple months for Allies. For a fringe deck that gets no respect, that’s very impressive.
This deck is relatively simple – there are Ally synergies that start as early as Hada Freeblade, and there’s only so many of them, so your options are rather limited. That’s fine though, because you don’t need a bunch of fancy options, you just need some solid creatures to attack with.
Ultimately, this deck is a product of its supporting cards. Maybe all that will change when Battle for Zendikar is released and we get some sick Allies, but for now, how well this deck does is based on how good Aether Vial, Path to Exile, and Collected Company are. Without those cards, I don’t think this deck would be beating much of anyone, although Kabira Evangel is definitely a gigantic beating.
I’ve seen some of these lists splash for Jiwari Shapeshifter, but that seemed extra greedy for no real reason. Focus on Naya so you can play powerhouses like Dromoka’s Command and the very underrated Abzan Falconer. The sideboard is, again, a pile of the most hateful sideboard cards in the Naya colors, which at this point should be expected.
Sure, Battle for Zendikar might be just around the corner, but why wait? Grab your Allies and crush your opponents like they’re just some punk Eldrazis.
