Modern is the format where if you have the option between the efficient but less powerful card, you basically go with the cheaper card every time. For example, there is no end to the amount of Terminates and Dreadbores you can play in Modern, but you still end up playing Lightning Bolt instead.
If you’re trying to put some pants on a hexproof creature, you’re probably going to go with Slippery Bogle or Gladecover Scout, but leave the Sigardas and Thruns at home. Not this deck though.
If you choose to play hexproof creatures alongside some auras, it’s probably because you want to blank the many interactive cards in Modern. You definitely get to do that, but you’re not as fast as something like Affinity or Zoo. BUNNYKEPT went even further down that path, choosing to use Worship as a card to stop the faster decks from being able to kill them. Because of that, it makes sense to go with the more powerful creatures with hexproof rather than the most efficient ones.
Geist of Saint Traft is the obvious choice, but cards like Sylvan Caryatid, Sigarda, and even Ascended Lawmage show up in this 5-0 deck. There are still some Hyena Umbras and Ethereal Armors present in this decklist, but there aren’t nearly enough auras to warrant playing Daybreak Coronet. Rather than try to race, why not just play Worship to lock them out instead?
