Orange Cap Games (OCG) announced it banned seven cards from the Vibes TCG Constructed format on Friday, a move the designers made to “shake up the metagame and make games more fun to play.”
With the fourth expansion coming soon, the designers are taking a swing at removing a bunch of the game’s design mistakes to allow a new meta to emerge. The seven cards being banned are:
- Inspiring Story
- Chaos Birb
- On Thin Ice
- Colosseum
- Penguin Who Doesn’t Mind Goodbyes
- Bizmo, PhD Candidate
- A Drop in Attention
The article notes that these cards aren’t all gone forever, but the goal is to allow for more exploration before and after the release of the Set 4.
The Top 8 decklists from the recent Championship of the Americas, which took place at SCG CON Baltimore on September 13, contained four copies of Red Control which uses three of the seven banned cards. Though the best deck didn’t win the tournament, OCG is taking action on it in addition to other decks, including the winning Caffeine Colosseum list.
