Upper Deck has announced they have entered a licensing agreement with Hasbro to produce trading cards and other games for iconic franchises like Transformers, Power Rangers, G.I. Joe, and more.
While news of the partnership was just announced today, the two entertainment titans are wasting no time in launching new products, with their collaborative debut, a Transformers 40th Anniversary Special Edition trading card set, scheduled to release next month.
According to Upper Deck, the set will bring “…legendary Autobots and Decepticons to life through cinematic poster-inspired trading cards…” and will include chase cards autographed by Peter Cullen, the voice of Optimus Prime. The Transformers 40th Anniversary Special Edition will be available exclusively at Target and is planned for release in mid-September.

Upper Deck also plans to release a 100-card base set for The Transformers: The Movie 40th Anniversary later this year as part of their Fleer brand.
Beyond Transformers, Upper Deck has confirmed they will be producing new products for several of Hasbro’s other iconic franchises including Power Rangers, G.I. Joe, M.A.S.K., Jem and the Holograms, and more.
“Choosing to collaborate with Upper Deck opens the door to premium trading cards that commemorate the properties fans have loved for generations. Transformers, Power Rangers, and GI Joe continue to inspire passionate communities around the world, and we’re proud to work with a company that understands what makes these brands resonate so deeply with fans and how to capture those moments in beautifully designed trading cards.”
