Wizards of the Coast (WotC) President, John Hight, will be relinquishing his current position with the company as of September 1.

News of Hight’s role change comes from a filing with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission which states that Hight and Hasbro (WotC’s parent company), entered into a Transitional Advisory Services Agreement as of Monday, July 27.
Taking on the role in 2024, Hight oversaw the strategy and development of the Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons brands, as well as various digital and tabletop projects. Last year, WotC achieved their most successful fiscal year to date, reporting a year-over-year growth of 45% and roughly $2.2 billion in division revenue, $1.72 billion of which came from Magic: The Gathering.
Per the agreement, Hight will continue his current position through September 1, 2026, after which he will transition into an advisory role with the company through September 2, 2027.
At this time, neither Hasbro or WotC have indicated who Hight’s successor will be.
