Magic: The Gathering’s third and final Universes Beyond set release of 2025, Avatar: The Last Airbender will introduce over 300 new cards to the game’s Standard format, all of which feature beloved characters, themes, and locations from the iconic animated series.

Set Symbols And Legality
All cards featuring the main set symbol for the Magic: The Gathering | Avatar: The Last Airbender (pictured left above) will be legal for play in Magic’s Standard format. Any cards with the glider symbol (pictured on the right above) will only be legal for play in Eternal formats.
The First Look
Back in early August, Wizards of the Coast (WotC) gave us a First Look at Magic: The Gathering | Avatar: The Last Airbender. Thanks to the first look, fans of both Magic and Avatar got to see the reveal of numerous beloved characters, including Toph, Zuko, Katara, Sokka, and of course, Aang and Appa.
The live stream also revealed the mechanics for the set which include four new element bending techniques that align with those from the series.
Booster Fun Variants
Magic: The Gathering | Avatar: The Last Airbender Booster Fun variants include Borderless Field Notes versions of various creatures from the world, Borderless Elemental Frames, Full-Art Borderless DFCs, and Extended Art cards.

Each Magic Spotlight: The Avatar event features a $50,000 prize pool with all participants receiving a stunning, non-foil Day of Black Sun promo! Additionally, the Top 128 players will receive traditional foil copies of this promo card. The Top 8 players in each main event will also receive invitations to Pro Tour Secrets of Strixhaven, which will be held at MagicCon: Las Vegas on May 1–3, 2026.
