Hasbro, parent company of Wizards of the Coast (WotC), announced the appointment of John Hight as President of Wizards of the Coast and Digital Gaming today.
Hight joins WotC after 12 years at Blizzard, where he previously served as Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Warcraft Franchise. Hight’s role at WotC will be to lead strategy for Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons and to provide oversight of Hasbro’s network of gaming studios and digital licensing agreements.
Hight replaces Cynthia Williams, who resigned from WotC in April and took over as CEO at Funko in May. Hight announced he was leaving Blizzard on June 13 on social media, stating he was, “excited to explore new opportunities and challenges in the industry, and to continue making great games with talented people.”
