Kyle Vjorn won the Legacy NRG Series: Milwaukee on Saturday with Four-Color Control.
Creatures (4)
Planeswalkers (2)
Lands (23)
Spells (31)
Vjorn made the Top 8 as one of five players with a record of 6-1-1 in the Swiss. As the sixth seed, Vjorn faced Adam Wasburn-Moses on Lands in the quarterfinals — a matchup he defeated twice in the Swiss. Vjorn made it a clean 3-0, moving on to play Matt Dow on Death and Taxes (Yorion). Vjorn avoided the death part, advancing to play Travis Williams in the finals on the format’s top deck, Izzet Delver. Izzet Delver was the most played deck in the tournament despite Vjorn not playing it once until the finals. The boogeyman was no problem for Vjorn, as he won match and the $1,200 first-place prize.
Vjorn’s build of Four-Color Control leveraged the combo of Uro, Titan of Nature’s Wrath and Life from the Loam in a controlling shell. The deck has plenty of removal with Swords to Plowshares, Prismatic Ending, and Punishing Fire and generates tons of value with Urza’s Saga alongside Loam and Uro. The rest of the deck is filled with blue cantrips, countermagic, and a couple planeswalkers.

Izzet Delver was roughly 20% of the field with 27 pilots, followed by Death and Taxes (some with Yorion, Sky Nomad as a companion) at fourteen (14) pilots. Lands, Burn, and Bant Control filled out the rest of the Top 5 decks.
