Wacky Wednesdays #10: Oops, I Win!

Win $5 in StarCity credit for your kookiest multiplayer shenanigans! This week: Gary”Boogerhead” Wise!

So #10 is up, and I think it’s a different story today. It’s not really a story; it’s just to show how degenerate type I can be. Gary Wise, famous for Wise Words and Limited reviews, not only relates how he wins, but gives us a decklist as well. As an extra this week, I’ll give you a little story about one of the cards Gary used for the kill. Here goes…

Oops, I Win!, by Gary Wise

The fondest multiplayer memory I have is of playing a game of Emperor where I, as Emperor, was playing my old T1 Lich deck. It looked something like…

1 Lich

1 Wheel of Fortune

1 Demonic Tutor

1 Mind Twist

4 Lim-Dul’s Vault

1 Braingeyser

1 Time Walk

1 Timetwister

1 Ancestral Recall

4 Force of Will

2 Arcane Denial

1 Regrowth

4 Forgotten Lore

4 Fastbond

1 Dark Heart of the Woods

1 Zuran Orb

4 Glacial Chasm

1 Gorilla Shaman

1 Mirror Universe

5 Moxes

1 Lotus

4 Wasteland

4 Tropical

4 Bayou

2 Taiga

4 Underground Sea

Anyways, the opposing team went first. I was the third player to play, playing land, Fastbond, land land Mox, Timetwister, land Forgotten Lore, land land Lotus, Timetwister, land, land, Mox, Timewalk and proceeded to combo the entire team out with Lich, Dark Heart, Glacial Chasm. I only think one of us had fun.

Maybe that’ll be helpful to you to show you why T1 cards shouldn’t be allowed in those games.

Next Week

I think next week is the appropriate time to tell the tale of Robin Hood. If you want to share any stories or have any comments please sent them to [email protected].

Glacial Chasm

It was March 1997, GP Amsterdam 1. The format for the GP was Type II December ’96 (My favorite Constructed format) I couldn’t make it day 1, so I came to play in the side events. I had my trusty Sligh with me. I loved Orcish Artillery; I loved it so much I played four of them and four Cannoneers. I can’t remember what my opponent was playing in round 2, but I was on the defensive end of things. I had five Artilleries/Cannoneers in play, though. That’s when I topdecked the one Glacial Chasm in my deck; take ten, I’ll pay two life for the upkeep, take another ten. That was nice!

Have fun,

Gis
