Tuesday, January 12th – I had been looking forward to the PTQ in Atlanta for some time, since it was the first live PTQ of the season. I’ve always been more attached to live tournaments as opposed to online ones, as I don’t think I focus quite as much when I’m at home on my computer. When I’m around other people, I can feel my opponent out.

Monday, January 11th – At Worlds, William Cavaglieri rocked Extended to a 6-0 finish with Thopter Foundry / Sword of the Meek combo. Today, he shares his list, thoughts on the deck, and its place in the current metagame. He also brings us his Mono White Standard deck of choice… [Editor’s Note: Patrick Chapin’s article will be here tomorrow!]

Friday, January 8th – I know I expressed it last week, but I can’t get over the excitement I feel when looking forward toward Extended season. For those ambitious deckbuilders out there, the world is your oyster. Extended right now is the very antithesis of Standard, as archetype after archetype has proven itself able to put up the results.

Thursday, January 7th – Scapeshift is a deck surrounded by an unusual level of mystique. As a mythical “one card-combo†in the vein of Tooth and Nail and Enduring Ideal, people immediately began to work on the deck as soon as Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle was previewed. Many were uncertain if Scapeshift was any more than just another tadpole in a lake of gimmicky Extended decks…

Thursday, January 7th – The PTQ season has progressed to Extended, and the early results prove that a multitude of strategies are viable. Paulo takes a look at the two Top 8s from recent Online PTQs, and shares his thoughts on the decks’ strengths and weaknesses. If you’re looking to pick up a Blue Envelope in the coming weeks, let PV guide the way!

Monday, January 4th – After a long and festive holiday vacation, I’m back to talk about Extended. Magic Online PTQs for San Juan have begun, and they are using Extended as the format of choice. Wizards is doing a great thing here, rewarding the player base for the online version and giving them incentive to buy Event Tickets from their store.

Friday, January 1st – Moving into 2010 is exciting! I have always seen 2010 as this futuristic date, and now that we’re finally here it’s only a matter of time before the hoverboards and flying cars and holographic computers start rolling into circulation. But until then, I am happy that there is something else to be thinking about Magic-wise other than Zendikar Limited and Standard.

Thursday, December 31st – We stand on the precipice of a fresh season. As brown leaves covered with snow turn to the January sun of a new decade, we shed our sealed deck skins and move toward our sixty card future. Breathe in. Breathe out. Can you smell it? Can you taste it? The feeling of change is on the horizon. It’s the scent of Extended. And it’s about time.

Wednesday, December 30th – Extended season is nearly upon us, as luck would have it, and as a result I must say that I’m getting pretty excited to jump back into the PTQ circuit. This year’s Extended format isn’t nearly as fun as last year’s was for me personally (Faeries player at heart, remember?), but nevertheless I’m glad the format has so many viable decks this year

Monday, December 21st – The Extended PTQ season is fast approaching, and prudent Mages are preparing their gauntlet decks for some hot holiday spellslinging. Patrick Chapin presents his own gauntlet decks, categorized by the extremes of their attack, before moving on to discussing a certain new planeswalker from Worldwake… [Warning: Contains Spoilers!]

Tuesday, December 15th – The Extended PTQ season is fast approaching, and the wise mage will be well prepared. Manuel Bucher discusses his Bant deck from this year’s World Championships, and provides a selection of sideboarding strategies for the top decks in the field.

Thursday, November 5th – In the concluding part of his entertaining and uplifting report, Brian Kibler recounts each story of Days 2 and 3 play. From his 0-3 draft, to that game in the quarterfinals, it’s all here!
[Editor’s Note: Due to illness, there’s no Adrian Sullivan article this week. Get well soon, Adrian!]
