Nielsen earned an invite to the Innistrad Championship and $1,500 by winning the 188-person event, only dropping a single match in the Swiss. Nielsen lost Round 6 to Andrea Beatrice on Mono-White Aggro❄, but still entered the elimination rounds as the #4 seed, getting a bye through the Wildcard Playoff round. Nielsen’s path to victory required winning three Mono-Green Aggro❄ mirrors over Marco Wish, Hideaki Muraoka, and Diogo Santos.

Mono-Green Aggro❄ was positioned as the go-to deck this weekend as the main archetype that could prey on Izzet Epiphany while having game against the rest of the format. Not only was Mono-Green Aggro❄ the most played deck in the event, it put up the highest win rate of 60%, and took seven of the twelve top slots on the weekend. Izzet Epiphany was still the second-most played deck with 42 copies, though only two in the Top 12, with just a 44% win rate. Mono-White Aggro❄ clocked in with seventeen copies to tie Izzet Dragons❄ as the the third most-played deck, but sported a 58% win rate compared to Izzet Dragons❄ lowly 38% win rate.

After the four top decks, nothing else broke double digits in entries. The only other deck with more than three pilots with a win rate higher than 50% was Sultai Ramp with four players at 56%.

The metagame breakdown for decks with more than two pilots in the event can be seen below.
