After watching Coco7721 win a Pioneer Super Qualifier last week with Gyruda Combo, Celldweller elected to pick up the powerful Pioneer combo deck and successfully navigated his way through a field of blue-based control decks, toppling back to back Yorion Jeskai Lukka decks in the quarterfinals and semfinals before defeating Dimir Inverter in the finals.
Control was the name of the game in this Pioneer Super Qualifier, with three copies of Dimir Inverter, two copies of Yorion Jeskai Lukka, and one copy of Yorion Azorius Control making the elimination rounds alongside one copy of Lurrus Boros Burn. The Yorion Azorius Control deck piloted by blusideoflife was especially notable, as it elected to forgo the commonly seen red splash for Fires of Invetion and Lukka, Coppercoat Outcast for more controlling elements like Absorb and Fumigate.
