Silver Age, Compendium Of Rathe To Usher In New Era of Flesh And Blood

FAB’s newest format set to blossom with release of Compendium of Rathe, new precons in February

Legend Story Studios (LSS) has made it clear that 2026 is the year of Silver Age for Flesh and Blood.

The new format was teased throughout 2025 and launched in November. Silver Age is a fresh and affordable way to play the game. The format is a twist on Commoner and other curated ways to play based on card rarity, but Silver Age only includes commons, rares, and basic cards. And it has the full backing of LSS, meaning the format will see widespread play, including at the highest levels of competition. Silver Age’s impact on competitive play will be so large, it is billed as the $20 ticket to the $2,000,000 World Tour.

The rules of the format break down like this:

  • Common, rare, and basic cards only (including hero cards)
  • 1 young hero
  • 55 card-pool (including weapons, equipment, and inventory)
  • Start with exactly 40 cards in deck
  • Up to 2 copies of each unique card
  • 35 minutes per round, best of 1

Silver Age has its own banned list, which can be found here, and the format will have a unique structure regarding hero legality. LSS will keep an eye on problematic cards and update the ban list when needed, but the community will have a large role in deciding when certain heroes have worn out their welcome. With the release of each new set, the community will vote for heroes that will sit out the next season of Silver Age play. The top three vote getters and one hero picked by the development team will leave the format for one season then return to the format. If a hero gets voted out again, the span for its removal will increase a season for each time the hero finished in the Top 3 in voting results.

While Silver Age hit Flesh and Blood’s World Tour last year, the format takes a major step forward next month with the release of the first two chapters of preconstructed decks. These collections of precons are playable out of the box, offer a wide variety of heroes to choose from, and have an MSRP of only $19.99. You can preorder them from Star City Games for just $15.99 each. These decks aren’t your typical precons, Flesh and Blood creator James White said that these decks will be viable out of the box and capable of winning major events like Callings without any alterations.

The preconstructed Silver Ages decks from Chapter 1 and 2 include:

  • Kayo (Brute)
  • Iyslander (Elemental Wizard)
  • Viserai (Runeblade)
  • Dash (Mechanologist)
  • Bravo, Flattering Showman (Guardian)
  • Azalea (Ranger)
  • Dorinthea (Warrior)
  • Fai (Draconic Ninja)
  • Enigma (Mystic Illusionist)
  • Arakni, Web of Deceit (Chaos Assassin)

The precons release along side Compendium of Rathe, the 18th Flesh and Blood set, on February 13. Compendium of Rathe is a 348-card set has something for every hero, class, and talent, and is designed to support Silver Age directly. The set will have more than 50 pieces of rare equipment that will open up many more option for hero equipment loadouts.

The World Premiere of Compendium of Rathe will take place a week before the global release of these products, allowing players a chance to dive into the set and explore Silver Age with the infusion of so many new cards. The Calling attached to the World Premiere weekend will feature the Silver Age format and Compendium of Rathe will be legal.
