StarCityGames.com is hiring a Network Administrator! This is your chance to come work for the largest Magic: The Gathering retailer on the planet and showcase your sweet nerd skills!

We’re looking for someone motivated and ready to do awesome things with domains, backups, hardware upgrades and more! Are you that person? Then you need to let me know!

First, here’s the details:


Full-Time Position: Network Administrator


Relocation to Roanoke, VA is necessary.

Benefits include health insurance (paid partially by employee) and other supplemental insurances (paid by employee), 401(k) plan, vacation time, paid sick time and paid holidays.

Requirements:

– 3+ years experience supporting desktops / end users

– 3+ years experience supporting Microsoft Server based OS’s in a live
production environment.

– Strong Microsoft OS and Office application suite.

– Working knowledge of basic network functions (Firewalls, switching,
routing).

– Experience maintaining and supporting a Storage Area Network.

– Experience with an enterprise backup environment.

– Experience with Dell hardware.

– Ability to work off-hours for system updates/upgrades and in the
event of crisis.

– Excellent oral and written communication.

– Ability to work effectively within a team.

– Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and multitask with minimal
supervision.

Experience in:

– LAN / WAN structures

– VPN

– Active Directory

– Designing and implementing Disaster Recovery plans

– Software licensing and keeping a database of licenses

– Various Server software – Windows Server a must, OSX / Linux servers a
bonus

– Routers, switches, firewalls, TCP/IP

– Extensive troubleshooting of unique problems that not all users may
be experiencing


Job Responsibilities:

– Support 50+ Users

– Manage Physical Network Infrastructure

– Network asset management, including purchase & maintenance of
network component inventory and related documentation and technical
specifications information

– Backups of Servers, including System Backup and Recovery

– Repair/replace hardware used by employees: Desktop/Laptop hardware, etc.

– Manage Server Hardware/Software

– Network Printers and Devices

– Monitor Data Communication

– Infrastructure servers: E-Mail, Active Directory, Domain Controller,
Firewall, DNS, DHCP, Etc.

– Oversee installation, configuration, maintenance, and
troubleshooting of end user workstation hardware, software, and
peripheral devices

– Ensure security standards are adhered to

– Document procedures

– Willing to work late hours if required.
